Punk Ballerina

Just finished this image for The Pitch weekly. The piece was done for the calendar section announcing the ballet performance of Karole Armitage who was dubbed the "Punk Ballerina" by Vanity Fair. As you can see I decided to put the punk dancers in a dark and whimsical forest. If you look at my portfolio you will see that this is a rarity for me.

I love the idea that punk ballerinas would take their toe shoes off to dance. I also like: the pencil texture, the girl behind the treee, your wicked branchy lines!

Love it, only a few times in my life have I searched for an artist after seeing a work anywhere. This piece caused me to do so. Love your work, I will be looking for it from now on.
